Movie Story

Experience this historic concert by Carlos Varela, one of the most enigmatic, rebellious and poetic artists of Cuban music. Carlos Varela and his songs are a part of the lives and history of millions of Cubans, inside and outside of Cuba. Varela has been recognized as a defiant and defining poet of his time. The allegorical and philosophical alchemy of his texts and the emotional honesty he expresses has identified him as “the voice of a generation”. To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of his career, Carlos invited a group of renowned musicians – artists and friends – to accompany him in two legendary concerts held at the National Theater of Cuba: Jackson Browne, Iván Lins, Luis Enrique, Eduardo Cabra (Calle 13 Visitor), Juan Formell (Los Van Van), X Alfonso, Alexander Abreu, and Diana Fuentes join Carlos Varela in interpretations of his most legendary songs, with the accompaniment of his band and the Chamber Orchestra of Havana.
