DON’T LOOK AT THE DEMON, Brando Lee’s film based on real (banned) religious rituals, and his own personal experiences, an emotionally damaged spiritual medium leads a paranormal investigative TV crew to a haunted home in Malaysia, only to discover that the dangerous entity that dwells in the house, may have a connection to her own mysterious past.
Jules, played by Fiona Dourif (Chucky, Tenet, The Blacklist, Shameless) is part of an American team of paranormal TV investigators, along with Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing, Triangle of Sadness, The King’s Man), Jordon Belfi (Entourage), and Randy Wayne (Dukes of Hazard: The Beginning) who head into the idyllic highlands of Fraser’s Hill in Malaysia, to gather evidence at a house built in the 1970s. The home’s newest owners, Ian, played by William Miller (The 100), and Martha, played by award-winning Swedish actress Malin Crépin (In Your Veins) who claim to have experienced strange disturbances.
At first, the couple’s claims seem dubious and the investigative team suspects the two may just be publicity seekers but Jules soon has her own horrifying experience in the basement, leading them to believe there might be more than meets the eye. As the crew delves deeper into the mystery, they encounter possessions and apparitions more terrifying than they’d ever witnessed. Secret rooms are discovered in the old house. Even darker secrets are uncovered in the history of the house with connections to an ancient forbidden Thai ritual, stillborn babies, restless female spirits, and a violent supernatural force that threatens to destroy all who come into contact with it. Only Jules, who had a supernatural encounter as a child, seems to be the one who can deal with it.
