Arroyave studied Social Communication at EAFIT University in the city of Medellín, Antioquia . Later she studied cinematographic direction in Cuba and Argentina. In 2010 he released his first short film, entitled El truco , which was included in the category of new creators of the Cartagena Film Festival . That same year he founded the production company Rara Colectivo Audiovisual in the city of Medellín. 1
In 2019 he released his first feature film, entitled Los Días de la Ballena . The film was released worldwide at the SXSW Film Festival , where it received a special mention. The film also won awards at other events such as the Bogotá Audiovisual Market, the Colombian Film Festival in New York and the Tallinn Black Nights International Festival in Estonia. He participated in festivals in Colombia, Argentina, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico, Sweden, Brazil and Switzerland
